Toyota Build R & D and Manufacturing Cars in ChinaToyota Motor Corporation (TMC) set aside 689 million dollars, or USD 6.09 billion to establish centers of research and development (R & D Center) in Changshu and began operating in 2013. Because of this, Toyota took the Guangzhou Automobile Group Company and FAW Group to develop new vehicles with environmentally friendly technologies, one hybrid.
The move is an endorsement against the wishes of the Government of China to foreign car manufacturers operating in the country to develop environmentally friendly technology with local partners. Further, these environmentally friendly vehicles will be marketed in 2015.
Another plan, prepare the manufacturing process “green” and hybrid car components industry development in China. With this strategy, they want to retain the title as a manufacturer with sales of hybrid cars in the world.
For starters, Toyota plans to start production of the Prius hybrid in China early next year. However, the supply of components still rely on Japan as the main source.
