Fantasy Hockey 2 - Week Frenzy Forecast

For all the puckheads out there itching to get their hockey fixes in the unique style that Rotoplay offers, prepare to scratch. Just choose from a set of five forwards, three defenseman, three goalies and three teams, and you're on your way. And here is the forecast for this contest in order to help you put together the best fantasy hockey squad possible.

Forwards 1: Sidney Crosby, Marion Gaborik, Ilya Kovalchuk, Evgeni Malkin, Rick Nash, Alexander Ovechkin

Relevant Numbers: Crosby and Ovechkin are tied for second in the NHL in goals, trailing only Gaborik, though Gaborik has the most overall points. Nash was fifth in the NHL with 120 shots. Ovechkin has 20 goals in 23 games.

Games on Schedule: Gaborik, Kovalchuk, Nash - 7, Crosby, Malkin - 6, Ovechkin - 5

Injury Concerns: There are no reported injuries in this group.

Forwards 2: Mikko Koivu, Dustin Penner, Corey Perry, Brad Richards, Steven Stamkos, Henrik Zetterberg

Relevant Numbers: Richards is fourth in the league in assists. Perry was one of just three players with at least 14 goals and 20 assists. Zetterberg is fourth in the NHL in shots on goal with 123, and Stamkos is the only player in this group without at least 100 shots.

Injury Concerns: Stamkos was day-to-day with an upper-body injury at the time of this writing.

Teams 3: Columbus Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs

Relevant Numbers: The Senators have the most wins in this group with 15. The Blue Jackets have 14 wins, the Blues have 13, the Islanders and Panthers both have 11 victories, while the Leafs have 10. None of these teams have outscored their opponents on the season, but Ottawa's minus-five differential is best in the group, followed by St. Louis's minus-six differential.
